A.BARCLAY is an evolving collection of scarves and resort wraps providing luxurious accessories to the fashion marketplace; locally made items to orphanages in Tanzania; and a greater feeling of social responsibility to all of the brand’s stylish wearers.

A. BARCLAY

All scarves are made with 100% natural fabric and handcrafted by Italian artisans.  A.BARCLAY is a year-round source for unique and rich designs in varying weights: cashmere for fall football games and snowy New York days, light-as-a-feather linen for California climates and sultry summer evenings, and cozy cotton for beach strolls.

For every scarf that is purchased, A.BARCLAY buys an item of need from a Tanzanian for a Tanzanian, supplying multiple orphanages in the country with day to day necessities and stimulating local markets.  Depending on what the orphanages need, the items we donate will vary from season to season.

Anna Barclay Sibley

Like any true Southerner, nothing gets between Anna Barclay Sibley and her love for the area below the Mason-Dixon line. After earning her degree in art history from Rhodes College, the design-obsessed Alabama native moved to New York City for a temporary stint in the fashion world; but she found herself missing the woodsy terrain of the South (even more than the chicken salad and sweet tea), and moved to Atlanta to work in corporate fundraising.

Armed with a passion for giving back and all things accessory-related, Anna knew there was a way to effectively combine the two and raise the bar for what it means to be a socially responsible (yet fashionable) consumer. Honing her knowledge of natural fabrics and fibers and design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) was an important part of Anna’s process while designing A.BARCLAY’s 2012 debut collection.

Beverly “BZ” Kansteiner Burden

Teaming up with longtime friend Beverly “BZ”  Kansteiner Burden—a Virginia native living in Mwiba with her husband—was the match that really got the fire going for A.BARCLAY. Beverly is an avid conservationist, a strong advocate for building sustainable communities, and an indispensable resource for understanding the needs of local residents. As the company’s Giving Coordinator, Beverly oversees A.BARCLAY’s charitable donations in Tanzania.
